Search Tips ~
When
searching the Internet the most important thing to remember is that
you are searching a gigantic network made up of millions and millions
of Internet sites. If you are not specific in your searching you
will retrieve thousands of hits and many will be irrelevant to your
information needs.
-
Put
your most important keywords first in the string.
-
Use
several terms to describe your search. Using more terms tends
to make the results more precise (i.e. fewer irrelevant results).
-
Type
keywords and phrases in lower case to find both lower and upper
case versions. Typing capital letters will usually return only
an exact match.
-
Use
quotes around a phrase, e.g. "Foreign investment Bangladesh"
will find only pages that have that exact phrase rather than
pages that have all the words in any order somewhere on the
page.
-
All
search engines have a help page. This is the first place to
visit when trying a new search engine.
